The Challenge

During my Advanced Interaction Design course, we were prompted to create a mobile app with some AR functionality. The timeframe for the project was a little shorter than my previous project with only a month to come up with the initial design and prototype.

What is it?

Unition allows anyone to create and upload their own AR experiences that are tied to a specific geographic location. These experiences would be triggered by scanning a certain image called ‘Linked Images’. Once a user scans a Linked Image their surroundings will transform into what ever experience is tied with the image. Users can create and upload their own experiences as well as share them for other users to enjoy.

Target Audience

The average user of Unition ranges between the ages of 10 to 65 years old. This wide range of users are likely to both want to explore the experiences found in their home town, and create experiences for themselves.

My Takeaway

Designing Unition was a fun challenge. This is the first time that one of my projects had been under a month long. At the time the timeframe proved to be a massive challenge for me. In response to the timeframe, I spent a lot less time second-guessing myself. This allowed me to design and prototype much faster than I had done in the past.
