Making Peoria Healthy Together
Project Overview
UX for Peoria Health was a semester-long class-wide project, to address the disproportionate Prostate and Cervical cancer screening rates in specific zip codes of Peoria IL. After consulting with many industry professionals such as Dr. Leslie McKnight and Mary Stapel MD. Over the course of this project I collaborated with my team to create a finalized mood board, designed the overall layout of the website, and created a working prototype of the website using Figma. I was responsible for designing the homepage, the sources page, and creating the prototype of the website in Figma.

Our Project
After consulting with the team and many experts, the team thought it best to divide the project up into three sections. The first section would be a photo novella detailing recent cancer survivor stories. The second section would be to develop an online website containing cancer information. The last section of the projection was to work with local non-for-profits to distribute the resources produced within the project.

The Survivor Story Photo Novella
Step one in the plan was to develop a survivor story photo novella that could be distributed at events and viewed online. This photo novella would consist of multiple stories from survivors and the hardships that they had experienced. The goal of the photo novella was to allow people to see that people within their own community have overcome cancer because they got tested and caught cancer in the early stages of development. The photo novella would be able to be viewed both online and in a physical copy.

The Website
The second step in our approach was to develop a website that was a hub of information related to Prostate and Cervical cancer. The website would link users directly to reliable information from some of the most respected hospitals around the world. This website also included a link that would allow users to register for a Prostate or Cervical cancer screening.

Community Outreach
The last step in our approach was to work with local non-for-profits that serve the Peoria community. The goal was to inform the non-for-profits organizations about the resources we created and leverage the relationships they have cultivated within the community to distribute the educational materials we created.
